STEREO MASTER PROJECT GUIDE
This page outlines how the Stereo Master process works, what I’ll need from you, and what you can expect at each stage.
The aim is to ensure a smooth, focused workflow and the best possible result for your release.
WHAT IS A STEREO MASTER
A Stereo Master is the final stage before release.
The goal is to ensure your music translates consistently across systems, feels balanced and confident, and meets technical delivery standards - while fully respecting the intent of the mix and music.
This process is not about changing the mix, but about refining, finishing, and preparing it for release.
WHAT I NEED FROM YOU
To begin work, please ensure the following:
Final, approved stereo mixes as WAV or AIF files
Intentional master bus processing is included
Final limiter is removed (if mixed into, send both)
Clearly labelled files
The original sample rate is retained
24-bit or above is ideal
Reference tracks (optional)
Any specific delivery requirements (formats, version)
Please review files carefully before submission. Replacing mix files once work has started may incur additional fees.
THE PROCESS
Once your project is scheduled:
An initial mastering pass is carried out
Masters are delivered for review
Revisions are handled collaboratively until approval
Revisions are included, and most projects are approved within one or two rounds. The focus is always on achieving the strongest, most confident final master rather than excessive iterations.
DELIVERY & FORMATS
By default, final masters are supplied as:
24-bit WAV at the original sample rate
An additional 16-bit / 44.1k WAV included as standard
Alternative formats (MP3, Apple Digital Masters, etc.) can be provided on request.
Projects are considered complete and archived one month after approval.
TURNAROUND & SCHEDULING
Turnaround times are confirmed when the project is scheduled.
Express delivery options are available, subject to availability.
COMMUNICATION
If you have any questions during the process, feel free to email or call.
Clear communication helps ensure the project moves smoothly and stays focused.
I appreciate the opportunity to work with you to finish your music and look forward to delivering masters that translate with confidence, control, and impact.
